I trained as a nurse qualifying in 1981 and worked both in the NHS and the private sector in senior nursing positions for many years. I then completed an MBA before becoming Hospital Director at a private hospital and latterly becoming a National Operations Director for a private hospital chain, where I specialised in business margin improvement, process improvement/re-engineering and clinical quality standards.

I now work as an independent consultant advising small businesses on managing processes and margin and quality improvement.

I joined Women in Business in the second year of its existence and have been a member ever since, serving on the committee and chairing the organisation on two occasions. I am also a judge for the Women in Business, Women of Achievement Awards, a position that I am immensely proud of, and I am constantly humbled by the amazing business talent and passion we have in this region.

I remain enthusiastic about the Women in Business organisation, our ability as an organisation to provide support for our members, networking opportunities and the chance to make life-long friendships.
