Inspired by a true story and based on the hit movie, Made in Dagenham, award-winning Hessle Theatre Company’s new musical comedy depicts the 1968 Ford sewing machinists’ strike for equal pay. Rita lives in Dagenham, and like many of her friends, she works at the Ford plant sewing seat covers. She starts to wonder why the women are paid less than their male counterparts working on the production line. Discover how ordinary people can do extraordinary things when they stand together.
With a laugh-out-loud script by Richard Bean (‘The Hypocrite’, ‘One Man, Two Governors’) and bursting with catchy, infectious songs, Made in Dagenham was dubbed ‘The best British musical since Billy Elliot!’ when it hit the West End in 2014.
This is a great opportunity to enjoy a 2-course supper and see an amazing show for just £30! (feel free to upgrade to 3-courses for an additional £4.
